Drug targeting using MTCs. MTCs are composite of elemental iron and activated carbon with anticancer drug adsorbed onto it. MTCs are delivered intra-arterially via a catheter to the desired site by externally applied magnetic field. The magnetic field aids in particle localization and retention at targeted site by extravasation of the particles into the surrounding tissue.
